Valar Morghulis

"Whenever you play the game of thrones, you either win or die"

As the awesome season came to a close with the wicked, but jammed pack finale I couldn't help but realize that my predictions were pretty much all wrong.

In the gripping season finale quiet a few loose ends are tied up, and we will start with what happened after the battle of Blackwater. We find out that the Lannisters have defeated Stannis Baratheon, when Tywin Lannister, Jofferys grandfather, assisted by the Tyrells came in and devastated Stannis's fleet. Tywin is praised for his help, becoming Savior of the City, while poor Tyrion was stripped of any honors he had and the position being Hand of the King. Trion also finds out that the attacked he suffered from and has a scar on his face from was caused by a hit man his sister sent for him. Then on the other spectrum of the fight we see Stannis back at his castle with Melisandre where he goes through the motions of losing the battle and feels remorseful for the murder of his brother Renly.

So my prediction that Stannis will gain power was a bust.

Then in the North Winterfell is still under control of the Greyjoys but has an army of Northmen banging on the doors. So Theon tries to motivate his army to go down swinging but he is killed by his own men, then we do not see Winterfell for a while until Osha, Hordor, Reckon and Bran emerged from the burning wreckage of whats left of Winterfell and they run to the North. But for the other Starks not much happened, Robb married his woman (They were married in the eyes of the New Gods instead of the Old which was weird!), and pisses off his poor mother who is not very happy about the marriage, but not as angry as the the girl that he was promised too!

This disproved my predictions that Bran will try to help, and that Rob will defeat the Lannisters.

We also learned about what was happening with the other Stark children, we'll start with Sansa. Poor Sansa is at the ceremony where they honor the people who helped saved the city, it goes normal until Lady Margaery Tyrell, the widow of the late Lord Renly Baratheon, she offers she hand in marriage to King Joffery! I did not see this coming at all, I guess they did foreshadow it earlier in the season when she wanted to be the Queen that's why she married Renly in the first place, but she says that she is still 'pure' and loves Jofferey deeply. At first he is not considering the offer because he is already betrothed to Lady Sansa, but then after persuasion from his mother and the court he takes her offer and dumps Sansa. And Sansa is immediately filled with joy because she thinks she is free and even cracks a smile for the first time this season, until Little Finger says that he wants to marry her and she basically doesn't have a choice. This poor girl probably has one of the worst lives in all of Westeros, and that says a lot because it can be pretty bad for a lot of people! Then there is Arya who has successfully escaped from Harrenhal with her two friends, when Jaquen, the assassin and friend of Arya shows up and offers her to come to Braavos and be trained to be an assassin, but she turns down the offer because she still wants to see her family! But he gives her a coin and says if she ever needs him just to give it to any man from Braavos and say the words "Valar Morghulis". Precious friendship! Then finally John snow is still up past the Wall in the captivity of the Wildlings, when the other man from the Night's Watch tries to fight him, he fights back and wins. Impressing the Wildlings so much that now they are going to let him meet the King.

So Arya wasn't attacked which made me happy, and Jon has become closer to Ygritte because she gave him the sword that he won the battle which, because she was helping him out. But what happened with Sansa and Margaery blindsided me!

Last but not least we have Daenarys Targaryen. Last time we saw her see was at he weakest because she was being help captive in Quarth and her dragons were kidnapped, but this episode she turned everything around! She starts by going to the House of the Undying where here dragons are being held. She goes with her closes friend Ser Jorah, but she is the only one let in, by the secret door. So Daenarys walks around the tombs roaring at the warlock who kidnapped then Pyat Pree, then she finds her self in a room with many doors and can hear her dragons crying for her so she opens and door to try to find them. Behind the doors she sees many things that the warlock did to try to keep her from finding her dragons, she sees the Iron Throne, the land beyond the wall and even sees her dead husband and still born child alive to try to keep her from getting her dragons. But none of these things work because she realizes its all a charade and finally finds her dragons chained in a room. When she tries to free them Pyat Pree puts chains on her, saying that she will also be his captive because his magic is stronger with her and her dragons. She wasn't chained for long because she orders her dragons to breath fire and they do and burn Pyat Pree alive and the chains disintegrate because his magic died with him. Once she and her dragons are free Daenarys and her people go to get their revenge on Xaro (the King of Quarth and he also helped steal her dragons and kill many of her people). She finds him in bed with one of her old servant's, whom she thought was dead, and she tells Xaro he must open his vault to give her some gold, so she can buy a ship. But when they open the vault it is empty and as punishment for his lies and her old servant she locks them away in it and takes the key. Finally Daenarys, Jonah and her people collect enough gold from around his castle to buy a ship!

So my prediction was kind of right, because she did get her dragons and is going to bail out of the city. The reality was just more exciting and vengeful!

Finally the show left us with a cliff hanger ending which I did not see coming! Beyond the Wall Jon's friends Sam, Edd and Grenn are looking around for Jon when they hear the Night's Watches horn call. At first they think it is nothing special until they hear it blow 3 times which means White Walkers. White Walkers are legendary monsters that the Night Watch and Wall were created to stop. So the boys run back to the wall, but poor Sam is not inn the best of shape so he quickly loses track of the other two and hides behind a large rock. While crouching down Sam sees hundreds of Wights (the undead warriors raised by White Walkers) walking towards the wall, some appear to be Wildlings, Night's Watchmen's, and even some appears as old as the First Men who came to Westeros. But the most striking thing we saw was a White Walker on an undead horse who looks directly at Sam before roaring and the screen fades to black!

This is going to be my last blog post so I would like to thank any and everyone who has taken the time to read my blog and did my pole *STARK'S ARE WINNING*! So I bit you a farewell and goodbye !

My Predictions for the FINAL TWO EPISODES !

As the second season comes to a close it leaves us wondering whats going to happen in the last two episodes! Especially since we know that the plot can take quite the turn in the last episodes, from past experience with the first seasons finally where Ned Stark is beheaded at Joffery's command. So I am going to make some predictions on whats to come!

I predict that ...

- When Stannis's ships come to Kingslanding all Hell will brake loose, and he will gain some power over the Kingdom.

- Arya and her friends are going to be captured by some other army after fleeing Harrenhal to try to warn Rob.

- Bran is going to try to help the people of Winterfell but Osha and Hordor will catch him just in time so nothing bad can happen to him!

- Jon Snow and Ygritte will become extremely close and she will try to help him find his friends from the Nights Watch

- Across the Narrow Sea in Qarth Daenarys is going to free her dragons from being help hostage by the House of the Undying and bails out of the City with the remainder of her surviving people.

What I want to happen ...

- That someone will please kill Joffery!

- Daenarys's dragons become big enough for her to cross the Narrow Sea to Westeros!

- Robs army defeat the Lannisters army then travel to Kingslanding so he can free the North from Joffery's rule!

- Brienne of Trath and Jamie Lannister will have the weirdest but funniest road trip ever.

Even though I do not expect the season to turn out exactly to my liking I do expect some of these things to come true. So however the season turns out I am anticipating the exciting outcome and hope that it is exciting as always! Just minus the unexpected murder of one of the main characters!

The Women of Westeros

In Westeros there is a never ending struggle for power, man fighting man, knight fighting knight, even King fighting King, but it is not always these people that are making the decisions for the Kingdoms. It is usually the women behind the man. Although Westeros is stuck in a world similar to the middle ages and the women may not have rights, yet many of these woman still have power. The powerful women in Westeros range from a Wildling named Osha to the Mother of Dragons named Daenerys, and all kinds in between.

Behind most of the powerful men in the show there is always a powerful woman , behind the King of the Seven Kingdoms is Cersi. This powerful woman serves as the Queen regent until her son is of age, she has had numerous men, women and even children killed to secure the power of her son as well as her own power . Then there is Catelyn Stark who stands behind her son Rob, the King of the North. Although she is a amazing mother and kind woman she controls of the political side of gaining power for her son in anyway possible, that includes taking prisoners and breaking alliances. Then you have Melisandre who is the power behind Stannis Baratheon, one of the five men trying to become King. She is a powerful priestess who has used her power to kill and defeat the enemy's of her lover Stannis.
But it is not just the women behind the Kings that have power, there are also women who earn their power like Brienne and Ayra. Brienne of Tarth is a Lady and heir to the Tarth families power and money but instead of marrying a wealthy man and having children, she instead chose to become a knight. Brienne is a very strong and loyal woman who has earned her power, she has served as protector to King Renly and Lady Catelyn Stark. You also have young Ayra Stark of the North, she much like Brienne was expected just to become a proper lady and marry young, but she is instead a skilled swordsmen and wants to be a knight. Ayra has showed her true inner strength after her father was beheaded and is now just trying to survive pretending to be a poor orphan girl, while planing a way to avenge her father.

Some other ladies that have power in Westeros are the widowed Lady Margaery Tyrell and the imprisoned Lady Sansa Stark. Margaery was the wife and future Queen to Renly Baratheon until his untimely death. The thing that makes her so powerful is that she was only married to him so she could become the Queen of Westeros and didn't ever care that her husband didn't love her, but instead loved her brother. Sansa is another interesting case because she is often a hated character because she is with the enemy and doesn't do anything about it. But to live the life she is currently living would be a struggle daily, she is the future Queen of people who hate her betrothed Joffery (myself included), she is living with people who want her family dead, she is beaten for entertainment and knows that she will have to bear children for a man she despises. They may call her little bird as a term to show her sweet and soft appearance but on the inside she must be extremely strong and brave to live day to day.

Although there are lots of Queens and Lady's who have power in Westeros there are also women who do not have 'power' in the sense of money and political power, they instead use what they have, inner strength and wit. Osha is a wilding, wildlings are people who live in the forest and do not listen to the King and call themselves free people. Osha was all of this until she was captured by the Starks and made to be one of their children's servants. Osha has showed her strength and wit by saving the two youngest Stark children from being imprisoned by a crazy man. She risked her life to save the boys and showed extreme loyalty to the people she works for.
Then to the east of Westeros across the Narrow Sea we have the young, courageous and powerful Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryens. Daenarys is the last of the exiled Targaryen royal family, whom ruled Westeros for the last 300 years before the rebellion which saw the destruction of all that once was the Targaryen empire, which originally only left she and her brother Viserys, until she had him killed during one of his violent mood swings. Daenerys shows strength by surviving the life dealt to her and becoming a strong, brave and independent young woman. After her mother died during childbirth and she and her brother were sent off to live in exile until they were old enough to one day reclaim the throne. In order to do so her brother decided to sell her off to marry a Dothraki leader (tribal people) for gold, putting this young girl in a scary and new position. But do to her determination and bravery she began to thrive learning more about herself and her new people, and she became pregnant much to the delight of her people. When she was pregnant she would talk to her people and ask questions, the most important being about dragons. The Targaryens are said to have dragon blood and to have ruled dragons many years ago but they are all dead now, and she learns that they are born in fire. She was given 'dragon eggs' for a wedding present and began experimenting with them, while doing so she discovered that fire nor heat can hurt her, but that was no the case for her brother when she orders melted gold to be poured on him for disrespecting her. When this happens you realize that this little girl is changing into a strong woman. Then her husband becomes sick, and not even the best magic can help him, which claims the life of her unborn child, putting her in a diffuclt position to go on or give up, but she continues on. She makes the desicion that she must kill her husband to end his suffering, while still dealing with the lost of her child and still trying to help her people. This in my opinion shows her true strength. So at his funeral she goes into the fire with her 3 dragon eggs much to the terror of her people, but she emerges from the fire once it is burnt out and was not harmed nor where the 3 baby dragons she was holding. Daenerys is now the Mother of Dragons and plans to raise them as her children and then win back the Seven Kingdoms. She is currently dealing with powerful people across the Narrow Sea so she can get ships to go to Westeros and get what is rightfully hers, the Iron Throne using fire and blood.

The men of Westeros may get to be the most famous of the people of Westeros but they women are just or even more powerful in some cases, and if the power continues to shift as much as it is now Westeros may soon be ruled by a Woman.

WHAT CRAWLED OUT OF MELISANDRE?!?!?!

As a fan of Game of Thrones I can deal with dragons, White Walkers, and other magical things like that but at the end of episode 4 of season 2 Garden of Bones, when Melisandre gave birth to some weird shadow thing it was too much.

For anyone who doesn't watch the show regularly one of the men competing to be King is Stannis Baratheon, he is the younger brother of the late King Robert. Stannis has a spiritual and romantic relationship with the red priestess Melisandre. In an episode earlier this season she promised to become pregnant and give birth to a son for Stannis so once he becomes King he can have an heir. But the catch for her help was that Stannis has to convert and embrace to her religion and worship R'Hollor. We do not know much about Melisandre's religion other than that it is more violent and different from the other religions of Westeros.

But it is not until this week that we realize how different Melisandre is than the rest of the people in Westeros. In this episode Stannis asks one of his friends to take her to an island to go ashore for a while, so he does so with no hesitation because he figures it must just be to stretch her legs or whatever. On there way over she is very forward and sexual towards him making him uncomfortable then once reaching the island Melisandre disrobes and reveals a completely pregnant belly. So at first I was like that definitely not Stannis's baby, this is awkward, but then she started to give birth to it and instead of a baby she had a shadowish human with red eyes and it flew away in the wind. It honestly took me a few minutes to process what happened because the show is a fanesty and has some pretty out there plot twist but this was too much.

Even though I'm not sure how I feel about this new angle, and by new angle I mean shadow babies. But I will continue watching the show like a true fan and hope that it does not throw anymore curve balls at us. So now we can just sit and wait to see what her shadow baby does.

*SPOILER ALERT *

It kills Renly, Stannis's brother!

The Pros and Cons of Killing of Joffrey

I know that some of you are thinking that "its not nice to kill people" or "I have not idea who this person is" so I will tell you. Joffrey Barathon is the current King of the Seven Kingdoms and is the product of his mother and her twin brothers incestuous relationship, making him not the rightful heir to the Seven Kingdoms and gross. So now you are thinking "well its not his fault" and "he is only like 12", yes it may not be his fault that he is the product of incest but that doesn't make up for the fact that he is a horrible little person. Since the beginning of the series Joffrey has caused the deaths of Ned Stark and countless others, simple because he could. His age only shows that anyone no matter how young can still be as cruel and evil as an adult. Since there might be some people out there that might still not see why he must be killed so I made a pros and cons list of reasons why to kill Joffrey.

PROS
- He is an evil little monster
- It will make everyone in Westeros happy, well except for his family
- His death will free his prisoner / fiance Sansa, and make it able for her to escape from Kings landing and go home to her family in the North
- By killing him you will save countless people that he would have killed
or tortured if he lived any longer
- He's a little monster
- Most of the wars on Westeros can come to an end
- Someone who is a rightful heir to the throne can have it
- One more name can be crossed off Arya's hit list
- All the fans of the show will be filled with happiness and sunshine

CONS
- There are none !!

So now I hope my pros and cons list (and animated gifs) have helped you realize that killing Joffrey is the answer to all of the Seven Kingdoms problems, or at least will make everyone happier for a while!

How I will feel after they kill Joffrey!
